100 plane trips

Karen and I and the family have traveled extensively over the years.  In my travels alone, Let's see, Brazil, Holy Land 2x, Africa 16 times, etc., that's over 70 plane rides!  In my life, I have been in an airplane over 100 times, and, yet, I am alive!!!   Friend, it takes the grace of God for any of us to go anywhere safely.  In taking off from the Amsterdam Airport, some birds got caught in the jet plane motor, and we had to fly out over the ocean, drop $70,000 worth of fuel, go back to the airport, be put up in a hotel overnight, given 3 meals and fly home the next day.  Each trip to Africa involves 4 plane rides, two over and two back.  "Thank You, Lord, for Your safety!"  Each time we take off or land, I pray that God will keep me in His hands, in His mind, in His arms, under His feathers, as the apple of His eye, in His thoughts, hidden in Him, under the shadow of the Almighty, under His blood, etc.  I never cease to be amazed, how God keeps us in a cocoon of His love, His protection, His provision, His empowering, His enablement, His grace, His goodness, etc.

Idols on Heads

In Africa, it is so very common for people to carry the load on their heads.  But there is one area in Nigeria, where the people do not carry the load upon their heads.  Wanna know the reason?   It is because there is a tribe who believes that their head is an idol, and that to carry any load upon their head, would be being disrespectful to their idol, so, instead, they carry the load upon their shoulder.
