MINISTRY IN THE VILLAGES

As we mentioned, there are many villages that have never heard the Good News preached before.   Although there were the beginnings of a church in each of the villages where we went, in most cases, they were just in the beginning stages, but were villages for the most part where no white person had ever ministered.  Many of the villagers, especially the children, and even teen-agers, who had never seen a white person before.   When I arrived and attempted to shake hands with them, many dozens of children fled from me in terror, although, after several hours of dancing and preaching among them, they warmed up to me, for the most part, although many of them were still fearful.  One of the pastors, mentioned to me that the last white people to come to that area, came to steal them and sell them as slaves, though many years ago, the stories were still fresh in some of their minds.  Because our white skins attracted and drew people who, in some cases, had never heard the Gospel before, they did hear, and did receive Christ for the first time.  In their culture, idol worship is common.  We saw some of the idols that they worshipped, but we were never impressed by any of them, compared with our lovely Yahshua Jesus.  Amen.
